My career with Beeville ISD began in 1995 on the Moreno Junior High Campus as an 8th grade writing instructor. Throughout the years I have taught 7th and 8th grade reading and writing classes as well as PRE AP ELA classes. This year my focus will be on 8th grade ELA students.
My introduction to teaching began something like this, “O, you must be the new teacher! You don’t have a classroom since you’re the roving teacher! Here’s your cart and gradebook. Your first class is in room… and second period you will be in the gym of the elementary school that’s located...” That was January 18th of 1977. I started in an 8th grade reading class loving the age group and the challenges associated with it.
I am married and have two daughters. Both of my children graduated from A.C. Jones High School and received degrees from the University of Texas system. I have both dogs and cats as pets with names like Gus, Mickey, Duke, Brutus, Tigger, Fred, Wilma, and Hollywood.
I love the outdoors. When I’m not in the classroom, you can find me in my garden, searching for shells on the beach, kayaking, or fishing.
